Fidelity has announced that it has filed for three new fixed-income funds:
Fidelity Global Bond Fund (with Advisor counterpart)
Normally investing at least 80% of the fund’s assets in debt securities of all types and repurchase agreements for those securities. Normally investing in investment grade debt securities. Allocating investments across different market sectors and maturities as well as across different countries and regions. Managing the fund to have similar overall interest rate risk to the Barclays Capital Global Aggregate GDP Weighted Index.
Fidelity International Bond Fund (with Advisor counterpart)
Investing in securities issued throughout the world, including emerging market countries. Normally investing in investment grade non-U.S securities, including securities of issuers located in emerging markets. Normally investing at least 80% of assets in debt securities of all types and repurchase agreements for those securities. Allocating investments across different market sectors and maturities as well as different countries and regions. Managing the fund to have similar overall interest rate risk to the Barclays Capital Global Aggregate Ex USD GDP Weighted Index.
Spartan Inflation Protected Bond Index Fund
The fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of the inflation-protected sector of the United States Treasury market. Normally investing at least 80% of assets in inflation-protected debt securities included in the Barclays Capital U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) Index (Series-L) (the Index). Engaging in transactions that have a leveraging effect on the fund, including investments in derivatives − such as swaps (interest rate, total return, and credit default) and futures contracts and forward-settling securities, to adjust the fund’s risk exposure.

Franco Castagliuolo has been appointed co-portfolio manager of the following funds:
· Fidelity Inflation-Protected Bond Fund (FINPX)
· Fidelity Strategic Real Return Fund (FSRRX)
Matt Bartlett has been named Managing Director of Research — Industrials. Matt’s appointment is effective immediately. Fills position made available when David Hamlin was appointed to Head of Fixed Income Research this past November. Matt brings a strong background in fundamental credit research, having spent a total of 19 years as a credit analyst including nine years spent previously spent on the sell side.
Tom Chistolini has been named Managing Director of Research — Financials. Tom’s appointment is effective immediately. Fills position made available when Nancy Prior was appointed to Head of Money Markets this past November. Tom has been a research analyst at Fidelity for the past 15 years, initially covering utilities and several industrial sectors, but focusing on various components of the financial sector for more than a decade. Tom was responsible for covering large U.S. banks and broker-dealers throughout the financial crisis.
George Fischer has been named Managing Director of Research — Macroeconomic & Structured, a new position within Fixed Income Research. George will be transitioning off of his bond portfolio management responsibilities over the coming weeks. His appointment is effective March 1, 2012. The position of MDR for Macroeconomic and Structured is a new position which will draw on George’s many years of experience as a portfolio manager who evaluated macroeconomic factors such as interest rate, currency, and sovereign risks. George will focus on leading and enhancing our growing global macro analysis efforts, and will also lead our structured research efforts, ensuring a proper balance of robust structured analysis and respect for the evolving macro environment.
Ben Schuler has been named Managing Director of Research — Municipals. Ben’s appointment is effective immediately. Fills position made available as a result of the appointment of Mark Flaherty to UK CIO for Fixed Income last month. Since joining Fidelity in 2005, Ben has been a municipal research analyst primarily serving the municipal bond and money market funds analyzing structured securities. In 2011, Ben also assumed credit coverage of the single family housing and student loan municipal sectors.
Pramod Atluri joins the bond portfolio management group as a portfolio manager on the Core / Core Plus team working with Ford O’Neil and Jeff Moore, succeeding George Fischer on several institutional mandates and Fidelity Balanced and Fidelity Puritan funds. Pramod will take over these responsibilities effective March 1, 2012. Pramod first joined Fidelity in 2004 as an Industrial Research Analyst. In 2007, he took on a new role as the Fixed Income Division’s Asset Allocation Analyst. In that position, he attended investment team meetings contributing perspective and helping to strengthen investment processes and infrastructure.
