There’s no ratings change for this fund based on this manager appointment, but switching riders in the midst of the current crisis stream couldn't have been an easy decision.

Rie Shigekawa has been named portfolio manager of Fidelity Japan Fund (with retail and Advisor share classes), succeeding Robert Rowland. Shigekawa joined FIL Investments Japan in 2002 as a Japanese equity analyst and over the next seven years followed a number of sectors including real estate and REITs, automotives, Internet and media, and foods. In 2009, she became a portfolio manager and started to manage internal accounts. Prior to joining Fidelity, Shigekawa worked at Rothschild Asset Management in Japan, from 1999 until 2002, where her latest position was investment analyst following the Japanese equity market. From 1998 to 1999, she worked in the marketing section at Goldman Sachs Investment Trust Management in Japan. She started her career at the Industrial Bank of Japan in 1994.
